(Not So) Used Ideas by Matte Elsbernd

I have never skateboarded in my life. So, imagine my surprise finding the following in an old notebook:

Broke Boarding – skating on a half-broken board – whatever it takes to get skateboarding.

I’m sure it was more the alliteration which lodged that idea into my head and forced my hand to capture it on paper.

But given my experiments with AI, worth a few minutes.

Create an image of a skateboard. This skateboard has seen better days. The deck has been broken at some point, and a kid in the garage with her dad’s tools has done what they could to make it work again.

So there’s the board, repaired with tape, metal and twine. I’m sure it would work perfectly!

I then walked the idea through a few steps and voila, came up with this:

Of note during the creation process – it had little hesitation creating a realistic Thrasher magazine cover, even though I tried repeatedly to get it to change it to “Thrashed” using a similar typeface. I even pointed out I wanted to respect the Thrasher copyright/trademark, but Gemini does what Gemini does.
